We were really surprised to visit such a peaceful place in the middle of the old town. You are likely to have some problems getting in there as the traffic is awful but if you go on Fridays or on bank holidays, it will not take long to get there. Don't expect anything spectacular, the church is nice and cosy, will give a a soothing vibe.

I visited the Armenian church in Old Dhaka city with a Christian classmate of mine. The church seemed to have a very old history and tradition. The ashes of dead persons are still kept in the small chambers in the church's wall inside. The compound has graves with nameplates on those. It is a cultural heritage for us.

The site was an Armenian graveyard before the church was built, still graves are within the compound of the church with names. So it will give you a different feeling. The church remains close most of the time and difficult to enter. They keep open on Sunday because it's their holy day for prayer. It’s a nice place to visit for the locals and tourists.

The Armenian Church is situated at the Armanitola area of old part of the Dhaka city. It’s a century old noteworthy architectural monument in the city built by the Armenian community in Dhaka during 17th and 18th centuries. According to historian, this church was completed in 1781, therefore, it’s one of the oldest church in Dhaka. So give yourself a historical pleasure by visiting this nice place!
