One of the recreation sites of Rangpur, Rangpur zoo was established in 1989 and two years after (in 1991) it was opened to exhibit 23 species of animals. Research says, the total cost of the zoo’s land is about 18 million bdt. Everything aside, the zoo is a family friendly place and children can have a good time there having fun seeing the animals and playing around the huge area

Research says, the zoo has a total of 215 individual animals of 26 species that include mammals, aves and reptiles as well. Tons of wild animals are seen in the zoo which attract tons of visitors too. A few of the animals include lions, bengal tiger, crocodiles, oysters, peacocks, bear, keshowari, horse, colobinae etc. There are different kinds of birds too including cassowary, vulture, turkey, parrots, peacocks, herons etc. All these features of the zoo make it really stand out and eventful.

The largest zoo of north bengal also known as “বিনোদন উদ্যান ও রংপুর চিড়িয়াখানা” in Bangla is really one of a kind. It has a great eventful ambience inside which may seem playful to children. There are so many things to explore inside of the zoo ie. wild animals, birds, greenery etc. and all of this really makes the zoo wonderful.
